Basically I like drawing so much better than writing, that this
is going to be pretty short. It was always clear to me that I
wanted to draw professionally.

I have spend some years studying fine art at Stuttgart. I did my first animated short film there. After that I decided to attend to the Filmschool Baden- Württemberg where I graduated in 2006. Studying at a filmschool made it possible to make several animated shorts. The Filmakademie basically provided a big playground for experimentation. I also had some very good teachers like Andreas Hykade, Daniel Nocke and Ged Haney.

My biggest success so far probably was Captain Bligh, which was shown in about 80 festivals and which has become part of the Best of Berlinale Kinderfilmfestival Reel. My recent film is ´Bärenbraut´. Bärenbraut is kind of the opposite of Captain Bligh. When I planned a new film I thought I wanted to try something completly different. This resulted in gloomy black and white piece, after having made a film that was designed to be colourfull and funny. You can watch those films on Youtube. At the moment I try to make a living out from illustrating and animation. I worked for a number of studios yet, like Studio FILMBILDER, Trickstudio Lutterbeck, Brown Bag Animation in Dublin and Balance Film and some freelance work. Beside traditional animation I work with Digital Pro, After Efffects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash.

This called about me, so I feel obliged to say something personal, too. I am a big Beatles fan, I love flamenco and blues, a good book, playing the guitar, Piero della Francesca, Jaques Tardi, David B. and Albrecht Dürer... And my favorite Hobby is... drawing.
